I’d like use your gallery plugin shortcode to make my homepage look like the thumbnail gallery you see on Code Canyon. However you state that “Making the thumbnails go to a different site isn’t possible with the [gallery] shortcode without a plugin”.

Isn’t it possible to add the php code to your plugin so that we have the option of hyperlinking the thumbnails to another page using native WordPress code? In other words, the only addition to your thumbnail plugin will be a native WP code for a hyperlink to a post/page/external site.

You’re better off just inserting the images one by one and making them links.

I’ve been looking for a thumbnail plugin like this for a long time now. I really appreciate your contribution to WordPress.

Could you tell me how to make the thumbnail plugin a clickable link to another webpage or external website? Look at codecanyon’s homepage with the thumbnail images in the main container opening to another webpage.

Please bear in mind that I am no expert but here’s what I suggest you try…

Prepare six (ish) images and upload them SIMULTANEOUSLY by highlighting them. onto a single new WP page called say, Gallery Test…follow the procedure and you will have a new gallery page. When you click on an image it should give you the black background.

First though, try searching on ‘jQuery Lightbox For Native Galleries’ in Utube.

the plugin only works on gallery pages, so it may well be that you FIRST need to produce some gallery pages, by loading a number of images simultaneously on a wordpress page…and activate the plugin AFTERWARDS when the galleries are completed.

That’s all I did, and it seemed to work OK…but I’m no expert. Good luck!

And the JQuery Lightbox still works brilliantly – where it’s supposed to.

On my blog (still under construction)I have three ‘child’ page galleries on which JQuery Lightbox works like a dream. But I want to have a parent page called Galleries, which will have one image representing each of the three galleries (more to be added). I was hoping that by clicking on an image it would being me to the required gallery (rather than a lightbox image of the pic)

Is there a way that I can prevent Jquery lightbox operating on that Galleries page? I’m not the brightest with CSS code etc, so please could you advise which pages/part of the theme I need to modify as well.

ColorBox has many settings that a user can tweak. Is there any way to access them? Maybe via the [gallery shortcode] or a rel?
