I saw “Tron: Legacy” this evening in 3D at the most excellent Roseway Theater. I enjoyed it a lot. Highly recommended. 🙂

Is it really better to watch the first Tron before Legacy? Well I have, so it’s not goint to be a problem, but .. yeah, I dunno. It just doesn’t hold up very well…
If you’ve ever seen it and know the story, then there’s no need to re-watch it. The new movie will make pretty much perfect sense without having seen the first one, but it will make a LOT more sense if you’ve seen the first one at some point. There’s also quite a few references that make you chuckle.
As I had never seen it, I watched it a month or two back. It certainly shows it’s age (all of the special effects in the movie are terrible by modern standards), but honestly I thought it held up okay, especially the story.
