Comments Are Working Again

The Spam Karma 2 database table apparently got corrupted 2.5 days ago and all comments since then were automatically being marked as spam. I recovered most of the ones that weren’t, but a couple comments seem to have disappeared, so sorry to those who had their comments lost.

All should be back to normal now though.

“Casino Royale”

Wow, Casino Royale was totally awesome! I went and saw it this evening and was very impressed.

I had previously seen Daniel Craig in Layer Cake and he was amazing in that, so I had high hopes for this new Bond flick. He didn’t dissapoint.

There was sadly as major lack of gadgets and car vs. car chases, but that’s okay as there were some great foot chases as well as single car chases. There was also great character development (unlike many previous titles) and just the right amount of violence (not overdoing it, but Bond still kicking ass).

Sadly, there were no mostly naked girls in the opening credits, a tradition for over 30 years now! The title song was quite good though (sung by the lead singer of Audioslave).

Anyway, since I’m poor with words and tired of writing, I’ll sum it up: go see it, you won’t be disappointed. It was the best Bond movie since Goldeneye by far in my opinion and is probably easily one of my top 5 Bond movies.

I can’t wait until Bond #22 when we have Craig with R and all the gadgets. It’ll be seriously kickass. :D

Man Do I Love Google!

Last night, I signed up for Google to handle my e-mail as well as let me sign into Google Talk with my domain name. It’s all thanks to the incredibly cool (but not really new) Google Apps for Your Domain. I only get 2 gigs of space (rather than the ever increasing space of regular GMail), but I get their awesome spam protection, GMail interface (with my own logo), threaded replies, catchall support, etc. Not to mention that I can have up to 100 e-mail addresses, so if my normal one ever actually gets full, I can just make a new one and forward everything to it.

Way cool.

A Couple Good Videos

A couple videos I found on YouTube that are worth watching.

Amateur by Lasse Gjertsen

This guy can’t play the drums or the piano. Ah the wonders of video editing.

Don LaFontaine, the movie trailer guy

Some of you may have seen him in that Geico commercial, but here’s a much better video (an interview) from Good Morning America. Man is it funny.

Earthquake!

Heh, we just had a 2.6 earthquake here, right in downtown Portland (literally). Whole house moved up and down. :)
